Does Your Keyboard Have a Cold, too?

Author: MedStud  December 4, 2008

cpwkfc85-bk2.JPGSeems like everyone has a cold these days.  People are sniffling, sneezing and coughing in their hands and wiping their noses - and then touching their keyboards.  Now that’s sick - your keyboard that is.

It’s hard to clean a regular keyboard and not worry about damaging it when you use cleaner.  But there’s an easier solution - a germ resistant keyboard from WETKEYS.  WETKEYS makes keyboards made of silicone so you can clean them with soap and water and dry them off after you rinse.  Or you can dip them in disinfectant and then get back to typing.   No more keyboards with colds.

Cleanable Keyboards for My Nurse Stations

Author: HospNurse  November 26, 2008

cpwkfc85-cg2.JPGI ordered a washable keyboard from WETKEYS for my portable nurse station.  I had heard about them before, but I wanted to try one out myself. I love it.  It’s a fully sealed keyboard that I can clean each time after I’m finished with a patient.  Patients have really responded well to it as well.  They like the extra care that I take to ensure we provide a clean safe environment.  And my staff now fights over mine.

I just got a notice that WETKEYS is offering free shipping through Dec. 31, so I decided to finish off my equipment budget for the year and buy WETKEYS keyboards for all my workstations.  In less than a week, we should have them.  They ship quickly.

If you Immunize, Sanitize, too

Author: StaphControl  November 14, 2008

cpwkfc109-cg3.JPGThe CDC, Google and all the medical authorities are talking about the importance of getting your flu immunizations this year.  It’s true.  We should - don’t let flu season catch you off guard.  What they don’t tell you are other ways to keep yourself safe and healthy.

I work in a hospital, and it’s not just the flu we need to worry about, it’s all the other germs, too - like MRSA and other forms of staph.  These infections are readily spread if we don’t take the right precautions.  Sure, we wash our hands and wear gloves.  But there are other things to be careful of.  One thing that we have found are these new computer keyboards from WETKEYS - you can wash them.  Who knew?!  The things we touch all day long can now be cleaned to stop the spread of germs.  They’re made of flexible silicone and allow us to easily sanitize keyboard surfaces by dipping them in disinfectant.  Now you can immunize AND sanitize.

dsc_1458.JPGWOW!  Flu season is all over the news these days.  I just opened the New York Times and there’s a front page story.  There’s lots of talking about ways to prevent from getting the flu, except for a brand new product on the market:  cleanable computer keyboards.

We use our computers every day, and touch our keyboards all day long.  But we don’t stop to think that we can catch the flu from them.  Well, yes we can - especially if we share computers.  Cleaning keyboards is tough, because it’s hard to get around and under the keys.  And, you don’t want to ruin it by getting it wet.  Now, though, with WETKEYS cleanable keyboards, you can wash them right in the sink!  Now that’s an easy way to stay healthy this flu season.  Check them out - they’re a great price, too!

kbwkfw126-bk1.JPGI have to admit, I’ve never been a fan of wireless anything.  I’m the guy that finds out nothing works like it’s suposed to unless I design it, fix it or make it myself.  So when we first started looking at prototypes I knew it needed more adjustments.  We finally made it the way we needed it to work for our own use before making it available to everyone else.

Our first customers have all written emails to us RAVING about the new WETKEYS wireless silicone keyboard.  And yes, this is the first one of its kind, so “DukeMed” is right - it’s not available anywhere else.  Thanks for the huge compliments!

wireless silicone keyboard from wetkeysI just bought the new wireless washable silicone keyboard at WETKEYS.com and I can’t believe how great it is!  It rolls up like all the other flexible silicone keyboards but it looks and feels a lot higher quality - and it’s WIRELESS!

The battery compartment is ingenious because the whole thing is sealed but the batteries can be easily changed while the keyboard is completely wet.  No water can get inside of it even while you change the batteries.  I’m pretty sure this is a “world’s first” because I’ve been looking all over for something like it and nothing even comes close - I found out it just came out about 2 weeks ago.  Everyone is defintely going to want these, just wait until you try it!

A Washable Keyboard - I’ve never seen anything like it!

Author: HospNurse  November 11, 2008

cpwkfc109-bk-main.JPGI came into the office this morning, and my nurse assistant had a new silicone keyboard from WETKEYS in our waiting room.  I asked what it was, and she just rolled it up, took it to the sink and started rinsing it under the faucet with our medical soap.  She then patted it dry and placed it back on the counter and started typing again.  I was blown away!

I’ve never seen anything like it before, but it’s a great tool.  It helps reduce the spread of infections to our patients, especially now during flu season.  So, I ordered one and a washable mouse for everyone in the office.  They have a deal on combo packs, so I saved some money.  It’s the best investment I’ve made in a while.

Keyboards Dirtier Than Toilets

sanitize keyboard

Did you know that your phone and your desk are the most germ-ridden locations in your workplace? A recent study showed that office phones and desktops have 400 times more germs than toilet seats. When you hold your phone receiver to your face you are exposing your self to Staphylococcus bacteria, and your face could erupt in pimples because of it.

Every time you type on your keyboard and then scratch that itch on your lip you are spreading harmful germs to your mouth. Those germs can invade your system and result in illnesses like the common cold, the flu, or worse. It’s your responsibility to sanitize keyboard. Just because a cleaning crew cleans the rest of your office at night doesn’t mean they touch anything on your desk.

No more popping off the keys

kbwkfc109-cg3.JPGEver dig under your computer keys with a paper towel and cleaner to get rid of that filthy grime, and WHOOPS…off come the keys?  Then you think, “this would be so much easier if I could just wash my keyboard.”
Well, now you can…with WETKEYS washable keyboards.  WETKEYS computer keyboards are super easy to clean.  They’re completely sealed, so you just run under the tap, towel dry and plug back in.
