The new 17-page guide, which replaces previous CDC guidance for both seasonal influenza and the Interim Guidance on Infection Control Measures for 2009 H1N1 Influenza in Healthcare Settings, recommends the use of surgical masks rather than N-95 respirators when providing routine care for flu patients.
