Spill-proof keyboard

Spill-proof keyboard

Does your child like to have snacks while he is doing his home work?  Mine does. He claims a sandwich and a soda helps him to concentrate on his math problems. This works out fine, except for the fact that my kid sometimes gets too engrossed with his computer that he spills his drink on the table, or gets mustard on the keyboard.

Tired of having to lug his system every time to the computer shop, I decided to look for a better alternative. I found this spill-proof keyboard that is guaranteed to extend my son’s studying time, and the life of his computer. Now I don’t have to worry about spilled drinks. I do however, worry about the ants his study habit attracts.

Industrial keyboard

Industrial keyboard

Our company computers really take such a beating. Because of our 24-hour shifts, our computers are on almost all the time. In the beginning, we tried to cut costs by buying cheap computers and accessories. In the end, it cost us even more, because we had to keep buying parts for units that have malfunctioned.

Now we have bought top of the line models that are truly meant for big businesses. First of all, we bought Macs, because they are less susceptible to viruses. Then we bought accessories such as an industrial keyboard. This type of keyboard works well even with constant wear and tear. Now, we have been performing better and operations are more efficient.

Dirty Little Mouse

omwk0c01-bk-full.JPGMy computer mouse wouldn’t work this morning.  I kept hitting it to try and make the track ball move, but it was stuck.  So, I turned the thing over and realized that dirt had caked up so much around my track ball that it couldn’t move.  It was really gross.  So, I trekked to the kitchen to grab some cleaner and my office mate said, “Dude, get a WETKEYS.”  I was like, “a what?”  So he showed me.

He picks up this really cool sealed mouse that is made of all silicone.  No crevices, track balls - nothing.  And then he sticks it right under the faucet, grabs the dish soap and turns on the water.  He had it cleaned and ready to go in less than a minute.   I was dumbfounded.  I went to wetkeys.com to order one.  Then I discovered that they had washable keyboards, too.  So, I bought a combo pak - with free shipping, it was a steal.  No more dirty mice at my desk!

Chop, Type, Rinse - Repeat

I was listening to a radio show called Join Us at the Table this morning.  They had the Top 10 Gifts for the holidays.  As a foodie, this really caught my attention.

On the list were these really cool keyboards called WETKEYS, and they are washable.  This guy said that you can connect them to your laptop while you are in the kitchen and not have to worry about getting them wet or dirty.  I LOVE THAT!  I have thousands of recipes on my laptop and like to consult recipes on foodnetwork.com and chowhound.com when I’m in the kitchen, but I don’t want to ruin my Mac.  Now with a washable computer keyboard, I can chop, type, rinse and keep on cooking!  Cool.  Great Christmas gift.kbwkfc85-cg-full.JPG

Does Your Keyboard Have a Cold, too?

Author: MedStud  December 4, 2008

cpwkfc85-bk2.JPGSeems like everyone has a cold these days.  People are sniffling, sneezing and coughing in their hands and wiping their noses - and then touching their keyboards.  Now that’s sick - your keyboard that is.

It’s hard to clean a regular keyboard and not worry about damaging it when you use cleaner.  But there’s an easier solution - a germ resistant keyboard from WETKEYS.  WETKEYS makes keyboards made of silicone so you can clean them with soap and water and dry them off after you rinse.  Or you can dip them in disinfectant and then get back to typing.   No more keyboards with colds.

My Keyboards Are ALL WET!

I have an ayurvedic spa, so we’re around water, mud and other messy liquids.  Our place is very clean, but one thing that has bothered me is getting our computers dirty or damaged.  I mentioned it to a customer, and she told me that I needed a waterproof keyboard.  I’d never heard of one, so I checked online.  Sure enough there is a company called WETKEYS that sells washable computer keyboards and mice.

I ordered a couple to test out, even the new wireless one.  And they’re great!  We can get anything on them from the spa, and they clean right up - we just stick them under the tap, rinse and wipe off.  So easy, and they feel good when you type on them - the keys are so soft.  I think everyone should have them!kbwkfc109-bk4.JPG
