It’s only a matter of time till it’s here. To protect my family I purchased my Unotron washable keyboard and mouse at Wetkeys.com. This cool piece of technology is a cleanable keyboard that I can wipe down as often as I like with cleaning solution. My kids have freinds over all the time and they share the keyboard. It’s too risky to have such a breeding ground for harmful bacteria in my home, especially with flu season coming. It was one of my smartest puchases.

According to Brisbane News protecting our children agianst Swine Flu requires a team effort.

Parents and teachers need to work together to avoid an increase in swine flu cases as children go back to school, NSW Health says. “Schools play an important role in reinforcing good hygiene practices and helping parents and children understand how to minimise the spread of infection,” Dr Chant said. “It is important parents keep their children away from school if they develop influenza-like symptoms and we ask families, friends and the wider community to work together to make this happen wherever possible.”

One big way that schools and parents can work together is by installing washable keyboards at home and around schools. These cleanable keyboards are sanitary keyboards and also heavy duty keyboard, a durable keyboard, and a waterproof keyboard. You can wipe them down with antibacterial soap. I purchased mine at Wetkeys.com.

How To Protect Your Students From Swine Flu

Author: MashaOlssen  July 29, 2009
This is latest from the Los Angeles Times:
“The summertime outbreak provides an education for school districts and universities, whose administrators are bracing for illness.”
By Seema Mehta and Nicole Santa Cruz

“Hundreds of children have been sent home from summer camps across Southern California in recent weeks with flu-like symptoms, and camp counselors and directors are taking precautions to prevent the spread of the H1N1, or swine flu, virus in cabins and mess halls. But officials say the sight of children arriving at sleep-away camps armed with the anti-viral medication Tamiflu is probably just a harbinger of what awaits schools in coming weeks as students move into dormitories, and elementary and secondary students begin classes.”
It is of the utmost importance that we, as educators, do our best to protect our students. To aid in this, I am advocating our school district to purchase washable keyboards for all school computers. These are cleanable keyboards that can be wiped down regularly with antibacterial solution, preventing the spread of bacteria and germs that may harm our kids. I got this idea from a friend who had recently purchased a washable keyboard from wetkeys.com. The people at wetkeys were able to further educate me on the Swine flu pandemic.

With the CDC, World Health Organization, and Bloomberg News reporting on the increasing number flu-related sicknesses around the world, it’s smart to be prepared. The Unotron keyboard and mouse are easily cleanable keyboards. Just wipe or wash them down with any antibacterial solution and they’re good as new (and sterile too). I purchased mine at wetkeys.com and wetkeys.com keeps me informed about health issues around the world.

The summertime outbreak provides an education for school districts and universities, whose administrators are bracing for illness. Hundreds of children have been sent home from summer camps across Southern California in recent weeks with flu-like symptoms, and camp counselors and directors are taking precautions to prevent the spread of the H1N1, or swine flu, virus in cabins and mess halls.

But officials say the sight of children arriving at sleep-away camps armed with the anti-viral medication Tamiflu is probably just a harbinger of what awaits schools in coming weeks as students move into dormitories, and elementary and secondary students begin classes. Health officials predict a resurgence of the flu in the fall, and a vaccine effective against H1N1 is not expected to be available until long after the start of school.

School closures would occur only by order of the superintendent or the county health department and only if so many children were sick that it was impractical to keep classes running, said Dr. Kimberly Uyeda, director of student medical services at the Los Angeles Unified School District. “If we prepare for the worst, then we’re going to get a better outcome,” said Grace Crickette, chief risk officer for the University of California. Educators plan to work in the coming weeks to prevent the spread of the virus in classrooms and dorms, but they said it ultimately comes down to education and personal responsibility.

“Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands,” said Crickette.

An article featured by Man & Machine, Inc. explains how to be environmentally healthy and technologically savvy.

At end-of-life these computer peripherals typically find their way to landfills where these toxic and dangerous substances may leach into the groundwater and eventually enter the food chain. Man & Machine, Inc., the leading manufacturer of hygienic waterproof keyboards & mice and other computer devices announces its sustainability program to minimize the impact these products have on humans and the environment.

According top NBC news in the Dallas/Fort Worth area plans are beginning to handle a potential Swine Flu outbreak.

The first day of school is more than a month away, but schools in Fort Worth are already thinking about how handle another swine flu outbreak.

“The Fort Worth school district is working on its strategy on how to handle future swine flu outbreaks. From about 330 at the beginning of this month to more than 700. Overseas, swine flu worries may extend summer vacation for students across Europe. The Fort Worth Independent School District wants to be ready for future local outbreaks.”

School is just around the corner and so is flu season. A great gift idea for kids is a washable keyboard. It’s a heavy duty keyboard that’s a cleanable keyboard and sanitary keyboard. Your kids can be rough with it and sneeze on it and spill drinks and food on it and, not only does it not harm the keyboard, it wipes right off.
